Dan Caughley

Dan Caughley

Dan is the brains behind Netloss Aotearoa (Liam proudly claims the position of Star/Talent). Passionate about pioneering SPJ in NZ, he draws heavily upon Japanese slow jigging techniques and refines them to suit our waters. A staunch opponent of those who water down traditional Japanese jigging techniques, Dan is proud to have achieved an ‘Elite’ skill level that lends legitimacy to his voice in the NZ Slow Pitch world. He’s written internal OLNZ guides on jig moves and naming conventions, and is a true master of The Art of Falling. Dan is with Ocean’s Legacy because we also believe in promoting legitimate SPJ techniques and products in NZ.

Liam Anderson

Liam is the second half—and the talent—of the NetLoss team, with a fishing journey that began at just five years old. He spent more than a decade honing his skills fishing from a kayak, developing a strong understanding of watercraft, positioning, and fish behaviour. After making the switch from bait to lure fishing, Liam never looked back, drawn to the technical challenge and constant learning curve of working different actions to trigger strikes from different species. Standing at 6’5”, he’s still on the hunt for a fish big enough to make his next grip-and-grin photo truly impressive—but knowing Liam, it’s only a matter of time.
